If you’ve ever wondered what separates a long-tenured, sporadically-productive pseudo-journalist from the common fan, it’s that I, for example, can watch a game and hear the name “Adam Jahn” and think of “Stern John” and then ignore much of the action on the field while contemplating other homophones in Crew SC history and then write about it. So because my brain is broken, here is a Noteblog about duplicate names and homophone names in Black & Gold history. With the additions of Ola Kamara and Jahn, the 2016 Columbus squad has added a name to each list!

When Kamara joined Crew SC for the 2016 campaign, he not only brought goals, but also the ninth duplicate name in Black & Gold history. In fact, he was briefly a teammate of his fellow Kamara, Kei, which was a first in club history.
