CREW SC CONTINUES STRETCH OF MATCHES AGAINST WEST­ERN CONFERENCE OPPONENTS BY VISITING LA GALAXY
On Saturday, September 3, Columbus Crew SC travels to Carson, California to meet the LA Galaxy at StubHub Center. It is Columbus' first road match against the Galaxy since July 4, 2013. All-time, Crew SC is 16-14-10 against its fellow MLS original, including a mark of 7-10-4 on the road.


LAST REGULAR-SEASON MEETING
On June 13, 2015, Columbus Crew SC hosted the LA Galaxy at MAPFRE Stadium in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw. Federico Higuaín scored for Crew SC, while Sebastian Lletget registered his first career MLS goal for LA.


BLACK & GOLD TO VISIT LA GALAXY FOR FIRST TIME IN CAR­SON SINCE 2013
This contest represents Columbus Crew SC's first trip to StubHub Center to play the LA Galaxy since July 4, 2013, a span of over three years. That gap represents the longest active stretch between Crew SC's most recent visit to any current League opponent's home stadium by over one full season. The second-longest gap is Houston, which Columbus last visited in its 2015 Major League Soccer season opener.


CREW SC CONTINUES STRETCH OF THREE CONSECUTIVE MATCHES AGAINST WESTERN CONFERENCE OPPONENTS
This match continues a string of three consecutive matches for Crew SC that sees the club take-on Western Conference sides over the span. Crew SC defeated the San Jose Earthquakes by a 2-0 final at MAPFRE Stadium last weekend. Following this match against the LA Galaxy, the Black & Gold return to MAPFRE Stadium to host Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, September 10. Columbus then concludes the 2016 regular season with seven straight matches against Eastern Conference foes.


GREGG BERHALTER RETURNS TO STUBHUB CENTER ...
This match sees the return of Columbus Crew SC Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter to the StubHub Center. Berhalter made 52 appearances (50 starts) as a player for LA from 2009-2011, registering one assist while helping the club lift the 2011 MLS Cup. In the 2011 MLS sea­son, Berhalter also served as a player-coach under current LA coach Bruce Arena.


... ALONG WITH HECTOR JIMENEZ
In addition to Gregg Berhalter, Crew SC midfielder/defender Hector Jimenez formerly played for the Galaxy. Jimenez won the 2011 and 2012 MLS Cups with LA, making 43 appearances (28 starts) for the team between 2011-2013, scoring four goals and adding six assists.


FOUR CREW SC PLAYERS RECEIVE INTERNATIONAL CALL-UPS
Earlier this week, Columbus Crew SC announced that four of its players had received international call-ups. Harrison Afful (Ghana), Justin Meram (Iraq), Rodrigo Saravia (Guatemala) and Tony Tchani (Cameroon) all joined their respective federations.

Saturday's 10:30 p.m. ET start is available via regional television on The CW Columbus, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2. Neil Sika (play-by-play) and Dwight Burgess (analyst) are set to have the call of the match. On Time Warner Cable SportsChannel and BCSN2, “Crew SC Matchday,” the exclusive pre-match show, starts at 10:00 p.m. ET with Chris Doran, and “Crew SC Post-Match” immediately follows the action only on TWCSC and BCSN2. The CW Columbus' broadcast begins at 10:30 p.m. ET. Locally, the contest is available via the radio in English on CD102.5 FM and in Spanish on La Mega 103.1 FM. The English radio broadcast also is set to stream live on ColumbusCrewSC.com.
