With 2016 coming to a close, Columbus Crew SC is looking back on some of its most memorable moments of 2016. This year was full of moments that will be remembered forever.​
After a delayed start in Columbus due to severe weather on May 28, 2016, Crew SC earned three points in a solid performance against Real Salt Lake. The Black & Gold extended their unbeaten streak at home to five defeating RLS 4-3.
Forward Ola Kamara was on fire against RSL. Thanks in large part to Kamara, the Black & Gold walked away with three points from their match against Real Salt Lake, clinching their third win of the regular season. The striker netted a hat trick in just his third career start for Crew SC. The hat trick was Crew SC's first since Edson Buddle registered four tallies on September 18, 2004 against the MetroStars. It was also Columbus' 10th all-time MLS regular-season hat trick.
Kamara is now the sixth different player to notch a regular-season hat trick for Crew SC, joining Buddle, Stern John, Brian Maisonneuve, Ross Paule and Dante Washington.
