Afful, Mensah qualify for AFCON 3rd place match with Ghana

Thursday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal between Ghana — including Crew SC defenders Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah — and Cameroon was settled by a pair of second-half goals, pushing Cameroon into the final and Ghana to Saturday's 3rd place match. Cameroon's 2-0 victory came via goals in the 72nd minute and 93rd minute, despite Ghana lashing 12 shots with 56 percent possession and 10 corner kicks.


Afful started and played the full 90 minutes for the Black Stars. He's featured in every minute of Ghana's AFCON campaign.


Mensah served as an unused substitute on Thursday.


The Black Stars will now face Burkina Faso at Stade de Port Gentil in Gabon at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4. The match will be televised on delay on BeIN Sport, with the broadcast scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday.
