Ben Swanson and Marshall Hollingsworth dressed and played the second half of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds preseason friendly against the University of Akron on Saturday in Pittsburgh. Hollingsworth scored the first and game-winning goal for Pittsburgh in the 3-0 victory.
The Rivehounds improved to 2-0-1 in preseason play, with six goals scored while allowing only one in three matches.
Hollingsworth made his first impact in the 53rd minute, breaking forward with Corey Hertzog. Hertzog fed Hollingsworth from about 12 yards out, seeing him score the eventual game-winner.
Hertzog followed with a goal of his own in the 57th minute off a loose ball in the box and then again in the 67th minute off a penalty.
