Columbus Crew SC forward Ola Kamara was voted the Acura Man of the Match after Saturday’s match against the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium. Kamara opened his 2017 account with a goal in a stoppage time goal.
Kamara’s goal came in the 93rd minute off a pass from midfielder Justin Meram, ruining Houston’s chances of a shutout in their 3-1 victory. Kamara also made 15 successful passes— according to Opta.
Out of 605 votes on Twitter, Kamara earned 42 percent. At the conclusion of the voting period, Meram finished with 36 percent, midfielder Artur finished with 14 percent, and defender Jukka Raitala finished with eight percent.
Crew SC next faces D.C. United on March 18 at 7 p.m. ET in Washington D.C. The Black & Gold return home on March 25 to host the Portland Timbers for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff at MAPFRE Stadium.
