Crognale
and Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter all listed as the league's best in their positions.

The weekly honor is the first of both Steffen and Crognale's young MLS careers.

Steffen blanked United, facing just three shots on goal. Steffen was officially called into action 11 times with three saves, according to Opta. Steffen’s quick reflexes thwarted United’s final ball.

Crew SC Homegrown Player and rookie defender Crognale was voted the Acura Man of the Match after Saturday’s shutout 2-0 win against fellow Major League Soccer charter team, D.C. United, at RFK Stadium. Crognale made his MLS and professional debut, playing the full 90 in the center of the backline en route to winning three tackles, connecting on 27 successful passes and making 11 defensive clearances.

Berhalter saw his side collect maximum points on the road despite changing the team's shape from its usual 4-2-3-1 to a new-look 3-4-2-1 formation. The change worked, opening United to Crew SC's attack. All in all, the Black & Gold pressured D.C. with seven shots (6 on-target), 69 percent passing accuracy in the opposition's half and 63 percent passing accuracy in the final third. The clean sheet was Crew SC's first of 2017.
