Manneh, Trapp earn TOTW honors after Week 28

Following a strong performance at BC Place against the Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, Columbus Crew SC forward Kekuta Manneh and midfielder Wil Trapp earned MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week honors. Manneh is listed as a midfielder while Trapp is on the bench.

Crew SC stole a crucial road point in their push to the playoffs thanks to Manneh's fourth goal of the season and Trapp's career-high fifth assist.

Manneh, Trapp earn TOTW honors after Week 28 -

Manneh finished the match with a goal and an assist against his former team. A trade in late March resulted in Manneh becoming a member of the Black & Gold in exchange for allocation money and midfielder Tony Tchani. Manneh has four goals and three assists for Crew SC since being acquired. Saturday's goal was his first since July 4.

The 22-year-old completed 41 passes in his 70 minutes of action with four shots — three on frame.

Trapp —Columbus' Captain and Homegrown product — contributed his 29th full 90 minute-performance of the season. Trapp’s assist — a feed to the feet of a surging Manneh near midfield — brought his season tally to five, setting a new career-high for the captain in a single season.

After Week 28, Columbus (13-12-5, 44 points) remains unbeaten in six games and in fourth place in the Eastern Conference above Atlanta United FC. Vancouver (13-9-6, 45 points) remained atop the standings out west.
