With 34 league goals in his two seasons for Columbus Crew SC, Ola Kamara had not been called up since his move to Major League Soccer in 2016. The 28-year-old star forward is more than ready to play for his home country of Norway again.
Kamara will join Norway in two road friendlies with the first taking place against Macedonia on Saturday at Philip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia. The second will take place against Slovakia on November 14 at Stadion Antona Malatinskeho in Trnava, Slovakia.
Has earned seven caps for Norway, with his most recent being an international friendly on the road against England on September 3, 2014. Kamara has also found the back of the net once for Norway in a road match against Moldova, with Norway winning 2-1.
Kamara’s debut for the Norwegian national team came in the 61st minute of the World Cup qualifying match against Slovenia on October 11, 2013. Just four days later, Kamara made his starting-debut and went 55 minutes against Iceland.
Kamara and the rest of the Black & Gold will return to MAPFRE Stadium to host Toronto FC for Leg 1 of the Eastern Conference Championship on November 21 for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff.
