Columbus Crew SC full back Harrison Afful joined Ghana ahead of a 2018 World Cup Qualifying match against Egypt this past Sunday. The 31-year-old defender started for the Black Stars in what resulted in a 1-1 draw. Egypt took the lead in the 61st minute before Ghana found the equalizer just three minutes later. Despite a draw, the Black Stars were only able to secure seven points in the qualifiers and there World Cup dreams have come to an end.

Afful has now earned 76 caps for the Ghanaian National Team.

The Black & Gold’s star forward, Ola Kamara, was also called up for international duties and represented Norway in a pair of road friendlies this past week. In his first appearance for Norway since 2014, Kamara earned himself a spot on the starting 11 and went 79 minutes against Macedonia in what resulted in a 2-0 loss for the Norwegians.

In Norway’s match against Slovakia, Kamara subbed in during the 71st minute. Despite a hard fought battle in what seemed destined to be a draw, Slovakia was able to snag a stoppage time goal resulting in a 1-0 loss for the Norwegians.

Kamara has now earned nine caps for the Norwegian National Team.
