COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC this morning unveiled its new secondary jersey, the “2018 Black Kit”, which features a black jersey, black shorts and black socks. The Black & Gold's kit portfolio for this year includes the 2018 Black Kit as the secondary kit and the 2017 Gold Kit, which was unveiled ahead of the 2017 campaign, as the primary kit.

The 2018 Black Kit features a one-button collar, embossed checkerboard fabric and three dark-on-dark stripes along the kit’s sides. The black is offset by an all-gold Crew SC badge on the front as well as gold-colored names and numbers on the back. A one-of-a-kind jock tag designating “Charter Member #01” rests on the front of the jersey in recognition of being the first MLS club charter awarded. Additionally, a heritage shield commemorating the club’s initial MLS season in 1996 is affixed to the back just above the player names.

Pre-orders for the 2018 Black Kit are available now through the Crew SC Shop at MAPFRE Stadium. Supporters with questions or wanting to reserve their new 2018 jersey can call 614-447-4244 or visit the Crew SC Shop in person. The 2018 Black Kit in authentic sizes, as well as Crew SC’s complete replica jersey line - featuring women’s and youth jerseys - will be available in mid-February at the Crew SC Shop at MAPFRE Stadium as well as participating retail locations and online at MLSSoccer.com.

Under Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter, the 2018 MLS Preseason begins on Wednesday, January 24, at SuperKick in Lewis Center, Ohio after entrance physicals and testing. From there, the club departs to Casa Grande, Arizona for its preseason camp on Friday, January 26. Crew SC is slated to remain in Arizona through February 6 before traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii to participate in the inaugural Pacific Rim Cup from February 6-11. Following the conclusion of the Pacific Rim Cup, the club travels to Charleston, South Carolina to participate in the 2018 Carolina Challenge Cup. The Major League Soccer regular season will kick off just days after the conclusion of the CCC and Crew SC's preseason, with Crew SC opening their season on the road at Toronto FC on March 3, 2018. Following that 2017 Eastern Conference Championship rematch, Crew SC returns to MAPFRE Stadium to host the Montreal Impact on March 10, 2018.

In 2017, Crew SC returned to the postseason for the third time in four years and reached the Eastern Conference Championship for the second time in four seasons under Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter. Additional information for purchasing single-match tickets for all Crew SC regular-season home matches will be released at a later date.
