To advance the sport and help young people supplement their income through the great game of soccer, the Crew SC Foundation awarded scholarships to energetic young people between the ages of 14 and 18 residing in greater Columbus as a part of the Crew SC Foundation’s 2018 Referee Scholarship Program. Those students completing their certification met for training every Saturday throughout the month of February. Upon successful completion of the course, Crew SC also provided a referee kit consisting of a yellow shirt, black shorts, black socks, whistles, book, yellow/red cards, 2 flags, and a sports watch. Applicants who demonstrate an interest in becoming a referee or advancing their referee training and might not have otherwise had the ability to do so were given first priority in the selection process.
