After two weeks on the road, Columbus Crew SC returns home this Saturday to host New England Revolution. The match is set to kickoff at 7:30 pm ET.
As a finale to this week's #GreenerGoals campaign, the Black & Gold will sport a special-edition jersey this weekend, returning to MAPFRE Stadium on Saturday, April 21 to host New England Revolution with a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. These match-worn jerseys will be auctioned off after the match on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, supporters can enjoy half-off select beer (for supporters 21+), Pepsi Products, Brats and Pretzels from when the gates open through the 15th minute. Plus, supporters will receive a free Cell Phone Fitness Armband, presented by OhioHealth (while supplies last).
Crew SC comes into Saturday after its second straight road loss at D.C. United last week. United’s Ulises Segura scored the game winning goal just 43 seconds into the match and Crew SC pushed for an equalizer but were unable to find the back of the net. The Black & Gold dominated shots (24-5), shots on-target (5-1), blocked shots (7-0), possession (70%-30%) and passing percentage (85%-65%).
The Revolutions’ 11-match unbeaten home game streak was snapped by FC Dallas last Saturday. The 76th-minute goal was enough to put Dallas through with maximum points, despite being out-possessed and out-shot by New England.
Crew SC won each of its last four home games against Revolution. The teams last met at MAPRE Stadium on May 6, 2017, in a 2-0 win for Crew SC. The matchup will also see New England head coach Brad Friedel return to MAPFRE Stadium, this time as the opponent, after starting his Major League Soccer career with Charter Member No. 1 in 1996.
