Hector vs. LA Galaxy

Sporting Director & Head Coach Gregg Berhalter
On tonight's game:

"I think first of all, a very strong performance by LA, they came in with a game plan to be very direct and to play for second balls and they were excellent. We knew beforehand that Zlatan Ibrahimović is a handful to play against but I think we learned now first hand and he had a big impact on the game and overall we are disappointed not to get anything out of this game."

On the changes to the starting eleven:

"I think it was an opportunity for some guys to prove they should be starters. You always want to give guys opportunities and tonight was a good time and unfortunately we didn't take advantage of that."

On subbing in Niko Hansen at halftime:

"We wanted to stretch them more we wanted to get behind them. I think Niko [Hansen] did a good job when he came in doing that. That was something we identified to hurt them and I don't think in the first half we were doing it enough."

Midfielder Wil Trapp
On the Galaxy's offense:

"I think their size on the first ball is difficult, we weren't winning many of them or we are letting their guys just chest it down and now they are able to play to the guys running on which is difficult to defend. They wanted to do one thing and just play long to [Chris] Pontius or [Zlatan] Ibrahimović and try to win the second one."

On the team's defense:

"They were trying to isolate our outside backs which is more difficult because they are smaller guys compared to going against our center backs. If we are not winning those balls now the midfielders are recovering down trying to win the second balls and if we are not picking them up it is an issue."

On the team's performance:

"I think we stretched them more in the first half in terms of running in between but we weren't disciplined enough with our structure. I thought we could have killed them with the ball, we could have made them shift, we could have made them run. We were a little bit too impatient to rush things in the final third and that made it harder for us to keep the ball and allow them chances on the break."

Midfielder Hector Jimenez
On the team's performance:

"It is difficult and the frustrating thing that probably Will [Trapp] mentioned is we just didn't compete. It is a team we knew that was going to play long ball and they were very effective in that way unfortunately it happens. We need to compete 4-0 is a bad result for us so we just have to go back to working and try to fix this issue that we have here. When we got that goal we were right back in it, we don't know why that decision happened but I thought we broke them down pretty well in the first half we just couldn't get that final product."

On the team's offense:

"I think we just got to the final third too easy and we ran out of ideas once we got there and it is frustrating, we worked so hard throughout the week to kind of finish that but like I said we just have to get back to working and try to figure out a solution."
