On Sunday, October 21, 2018, Orlando City SC and Columbus Crew SC will partner to host a Special Olympics 7v7 Unified Sports soccer match between the Orlando City Unified Team and the Columbus Crew SC Unified Team to coincide with the First Team match taking place between Orlando and Columbus.
Major League Soccer is committed to diversity, acceptance, and inclusion at all levels of the game, and continues to support programs that increase the accessibility of soccer and encourage healthy, active lifestyles. Orlando City SC, Columbus Crew SC, Special Olympics, ESPN, and MLSWORKS are working together to leverage the power of sports to promote an environment of social inclusion and acceptance, by uniting people with and without intellectual disabilities through Special Olympics Unified Sports.

Why: The match will highlight the Special Olympics Unified Sports soccer teams (comprised of players both with and without intellectual disabilities) and the partnership’s exchange programs currently taking place around the league. It is a great opportunity for all involved to tell the story of Unified Sports and raise awareness throughout the global soccer community about opportunities that are available for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

The First Team's match is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at Orlando City Stadium, as Crew SC looks to secure a berth in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs with a win or a Montreal Impact loss OR draw.
