Columbus Crew SC and Acura to present STEM education resources to Hamilton STEM Academy on Oct. 29

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC announced today that Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter along with representatives from Acura and Columbus City Schools are scheduled to present STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education resources to the Hamilton STEM Academy (2047 Hamilton Avenue, Columbus, OH 43211) on Monday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The presentation is part of Crew SC's Give Forward initiative, presented by MAPFRE Insurance.

The educational resources provided by Crew SC and Acura to Hamilton STEM Academy classroom teachers will assist them in the areas of Math & Science. The STEM education resources come in the form of school supplies, items and equipment for the school’s Regulation/Refocus Room to help students with social-emotional behaviors self-regulate and get back on the learning track.

Last year, Crew SC in partnership with Acura, oversaw the addition of a STEM room and the renovation of several classrooms at Linden-McKinley STEM Academy. Beyond the physical renovation of several classrooms, Acura added to the school’s curriculum by offering Lunch and Learn sessions and an eight-week STEM Design Challenge for students through the 2017-2018 school year.
