On December 3rd, Columbus Crew SC, in partnership with Acura, visited Linden-McKinley STEM Academy to hold a Lunch & Learn session focusing on the SMART Columbus Design Challenge. During Monday’s Lunch & Learn Crew SC front office staff and Acura engineers previewed student presentations showcasing prototypes created by groups of 7th-grade students from Linden-McKinley STEM Academy.
This opportunity allowed students to present their projects in front of peers and experts in order to prepare for final judging in January, when students will present to a panel of judges from Battelle, The Ohio State University, Honda, and Smart Columbus. Following the presentations, Crew SC staff, Acura engineers and students came together for an informal roundtable lunch provided by Papa John’s and discussed improvements, challenges, and successes with their projects.
