Simply put, Columbus Crew SC has not lost at home since June of 2018.
Add a prior road loss into the mix, and the Crew's home success in bounce-back games before even more impressive. Since August 12, 2017, the Black & Gold are unbeaten in matches at MAPFRE Stadium following a road loss in regular-season play.
In the nearly two-year span since, the Club has gone 6-0-2 in home bounce-back opportunities, with the last scenario resulting in a 2-0 shutout win over the defending MLS Cup champions, Atlanta United, on March 30.
Comfort, field maintenance, atmosphere; it all plays into the advantage, and midfielder Arturemphasized how the guys are ready to rebound and show the fans this team still has another level to reach.
"It’s always good to be home and I think have a very strong team at home. We are excited for the next game to prove that we can still play better and get the result," Artur said.
Generally, MAPFRE Stadium remains a fortress for Crew SC regardless of the previous game's result. Currently, the Club stands as one of six MLS sides who have played at least four home matches and remain unbeaten this season (3-0-1). In the last 12 matches at home, the Crew have outscored opponents 19-8, though all their victories but one have come by a one-goal margin.
Lastly, the end result in the Timbers' most recent regular-season trip to MAPFRE Stadium? A 3-2 Crew in on March 25, 2017.
