DAVID ACCAM MAKES CREW SC DEBUT


Midfielder David Accam made his Crew SC debut in Saturday’s home match against Los Angeles FC. Accam came into the match as a substitute for Robinho in the 66th minute, completing one pass and registering a passing percentage of 100. The midfielder joined the Crew from the Philadelphia Union on May 8. Prior to joining the Black & Gold, Accam played for the Chicago Fire from 2015 – 2017 and the Philadelphia Union from 2018-2019. In all, Accam has made 110 regular-season appearances (83 starts), scoring 38 goals and providing 17 assists.


GUZMAN MAKES FIRST START FOR CREW SC


Midfielder David Guzman made his first regular-season start for Crew SC in Saturday’s contest against Los Angeles FC. Guzman recorded 65 touches, completed 52 passes and registered a passing percentage of 82.7. Since joining Major League Soccer in 2017, Guzman has made 46 appearances (40 starts) in regular-season action. In 2019, he has made two regular-season appearances (one start) since joining Crew SC.


PLAYMAKER: FEDERICO HIGUAIN


Since making his debut for Crew SC on August 19, 2012, no other MLS player has created more goal-scoring chances (including assists) in regular-season action than midfielder Federico Higuain. Over that span, the midfielder has created 549 goal-scoring chances, including 337 chances from open play –more than anyone else in the League – and 210 chances from set pieces, with Higuain behind only the Portland Timbers’ Diego Valeri (211) in that category. To date, Higuain has made 191 regular-season appearances (182 starts) for Crew SC, scoring 55 goals and providing 62 assists.


ROBINHO & SANTOS AMONG TOP FIVE DRIBBLERS IN MLS


Thus far in the 2019 MLS regular season, midfielders Pedro Santos and Robinho are among the top five dribblers in the League, per Opta. Robinho has completed 31 dribbles and is tied with Los Angeles FC's Latif Blessing for third-most in MLS, behind only the New England Revolution's Carles Gil (32) and LAFC's Carlos Vela (36). Meanwhile, Santos has completed 30 dribbles, the fourth-most in the League, behind only the aforementioned players. For a list of the top five dribblers in MLS thus far in the 2019 regular season.


FRANCIS AMONG MLS LEADERS IN INTERCEPTIONS


Through 11 regular-season appearances (all starts) in the 2019 regular season, defender Waylon Francis is among the League leaders in interceptions. Francis has made 24 interceptions this season, tied with FC Cincinnati's Mathieu Deplagne and Minnesota United FC's Romain Metanire for fourth-most interceptions in the League. FRANCIS & ARTUR AMONG BEST TACKLERS IN MLS 


Defender Waylon Francis and midfielder Artur are among the best tacklers in MLS thus far in the 2019 regular season. Francis has won 21 of his 27 attempted tackles and is tied with the Philadelphia Union's Kai Wagner, and the LA Galaxy's Joe Corona and Diego Polenta for fourth-most won tackles this season. Additionally, Artur has completed 20 of his 26 attempted tackles, tying with four other players for fifth-most won tackles in MLS this season. CREW SC SIGNS ZARDES TO MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION


Crew SC announced on Monday that it had signed forward Gyasi Zardes to a multi-year contract extension as a Designated Player. The 27-year-old joined Crew SC ahead of the 2018 season and scored a career-high 19 goals en route to winning the 2018 Major League Soccer Comeback Player of the Year Award, the 2018 Crew SC Most Valuable Player Award and the 2018 Crew SC Golden Boot. Zardes has scored four goals and provided one assist in 12 regular-season appearances (all starts) for the Club in 2019.
