COLUMBUS — Columbus Crew SC today announced that the Club has acquired a second round pick in the 2021 Major League Soccer SuperDraft from Minnesota United FC in exchange for the MLS rights to former Crew SC forward Aaron Schoenfeld. In the event Schoenfeld meets certain performance-based metrics, the Crew would receive $50,000 in Allocation Money instead of a SuperDraft selection. Schoenfeld, 29, previously played for Crew SC from 2012-2015, making 51 regular-season appearances while registering five goals and three assists.
Crew SC’s 2020 MLS preseason continues with the Black & Gold training in Tucson, Arizona and participating in the 2020 Visit Tucson Sun Cup.
The Black & Gold begin the 2020 MLS regular season at MAPFRE Stadium against New York City FC, on Sunday, March 1 at 12:30 p.m. ET.
