ETIENNE JR. | Crew midfielder speaks with Columbus Urban League President & CEO Stephanie Hightower, recounts experiences with racial profiling

Listen to Columbus Crew SC midfielder Derrick Etienne Jr.as he spoke with the Columbus Urban League and recounted his experiences with racial profiling.

In the wake of the murder of George Floyd, Etienne Jr. opened up earlier this month about the injustices he has faced as a black man, and has discussed his story on multiple platforms, including with The Columbus Dispatch and on Taylor Twellman's ESPN FC television show.

As our communities continue to educate and activate against systemic racism, the Columbus Crew offices will be closed on June 19 in recognition of Juneteenth, and will utilize the opportunity to provide and encourage open dialogue about our past, to explore more thoroughly our relationships with our community and our roles as citizens, and to commit to creating an educated and equitable society.
