CREW SC OFF TO BEST REGULAR-SEASON START IN CLUB HISTORY


With its 3-0 win on Thursday over Chicago Fire FC, Crew SC brought its 2020 regular-season record to 5-0-1, the best start after six matches in Club history. The win was also the Crew's fourth consecutive win of the 2020 MLS regular season bringing their total to 16 points. The Black & Gold's previous best regular-season start after six matches came in the 2008 season, when the posted a record of 5-1-0 to begin the year.


CREW SC LEADS 2020 MLS SUPPORTERS' SHIELD RACE


With its 16 points through six matches, Crew SC currently leads the 2020 MLS Supporters' Shield standings. Currently, the Black & Gold are four points ahead of the nearest teams - Sporting Kansas City and Toronto FC (12 points each).


CREW SC YET TO CONCEDE A GOAL FROM OPEN PLAY DURING 2020 MLS REGULAR SEASON


Through six matches in the 2020 MLS regular season, Crew SC has yet to concede a goal from open play. The lone regular-season goal scored against the Crew in 2020 came via penalty kick, as Raul Ruidiaz converted from the penalty spot during Crew SC's match against Seattle Sounders FC (March 8). Additionally, the Black & Gold have conceded the fewest goals in MLS regular-season action this season, having only given up one. Notably, Crew SC has not given up a goal when playing at home.


CREW SC HAS BEST GOAL DIFFERENTIAL IN 2020 MLS REGULAR SEASON


Crew SC's +11 goal differential in 2020 regular-season action currently leads all MLS teams. This season, Crew SC has managed to score in every one of its regular-season matches while only conceding one goal, which came off a penalty kick. Sporting Kansas City has the next best goal differential, at +8.


ETIENNE JR., NAGBE SCORE FIRST GOAL FOR CREW SC


Thursday's 3-0 victory over Chicago Fire FC at MAPFRE Stadium saw two Crew SC players score their first goal for the Club. Derrick Etienne Jr. scored the Crew's opening goal in the 20th minute of the match, when he put away a pass from defender Milton Valenzuela. In the 81st minute, Darlington Nagbe scored the Black & Gold's second goal, scoring with a volley from outside the box.


ZARDES IN 2020 REGULAR-SEASON GOLDEN BOOT RACE


Forward Gyasi Zardes remains in contention for the 2020 MLS regular-season Golden Boot award, as he is tied for second place with Toronto FC's Ayo Akinola, having both netted five goals.


BOATENG MAKES CREW SC DEBUT


Midfielder Emmanuel Boateng made his Crew SC debut in Thursday's home contest against Chicago Fire FC. Boateng came into the match as a 75th-minute substitute for Derrick Etienne Jr., and finished the night with 18 touches and 14 passes. Boateng joined Crew SC via a trade with D.C. United in exchange for defender Axel Sjoberg on August 14. Since joining MLS ahead of the 2016 season, Boateng has made 112 regular-season appearances (65 starts) while scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists.
