ZARDES NETS 10TH REGULAR-SEASON GOAL, CLIMBS RANKS OF CREW SC SCORING RECORDS


Forward Gyasi Zardes scored his 10th goal of the 2020 MLS regular season in the 45th minute of Wednesday’s home match against the Montreal Impact. With the goal, the forward is now tied with Edson Buddle for fifth place in the Crew SC all-time scoring rankings. Zardes is now behind only Jeff Cunningham (64 goals), Brian McBride (62 goals), Federico Higuain (55 goals) and Stern John (44 goals). The forward’s goal against Montreal was his 42nd career regular-season goal in Black & Gold and his 76th goal in MLS regular-season action.


ZARDES LEADS "HELL IS REAL" DERBY SERIES IN SCORING


Forward Gyasi Zardes has netted seven goals in five regular-season appearances against in-state rivals FC Cincinnati. Zardes' seven goals leads all players in the regular-season series between the Ohio clubs, notably having scored three of those goals against FC Cincinnati in the 2020 campaign so far. Additionally, of Zardes' seven tallies, two have been the game-winning goal.


ZARDES REACHES 10 GOALS IN REGULAR-SEASON ACTION FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE SEASON


With his goal against the Montreal Impact last Wednesday, Gyasi Zardes reached 10 goals in regular-season action this year. Since joining Crew SC ahead of the 2018 MLS season, the forward has scored at least 10 goals each year, with this being the third time he has achieved his feat. Before joining the Crew, he had scored 10 or more goals just once in his first five MLS regular-season campaigns, having scored 16 goals in 2014. Notably, Zardes' has also provided four assists in regular-season action this year, just one helper behind the five assists he provided in 2016, a single-season career-high for the forward.


GYASI ZARDES AMONG MLS GOLDEN BOOT RACE LEADERS


With 10 goals through 16 regular-season appearances in 2020, Gyasi Zardes is currently in second place in this year's MLS Golden Boot standings. The forward - who is scoring at a rate of 0.70 goals per 90 minutes - sits behind only Los Angeles FC’s Diego Rossi (12 goals).


CALEB PORTER NEARS 100TH PROFESSIONAL WIN IN DOMESTIC COMPETITIONS


With the 2-1 victory over Minnesota United FC (September 23), Head Coach Caleb Porter tallied his 99th professional victory across all domestic competitions since joining MLS in 2013. Over that span, Porter has registered 87 wins in MLS regular-season action, five wins in MLS Playoffs action and seven wins in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup action. His next victory will mark the milestone 100th win across all domestic competitions.
