LAST REGULAR-SEASON MEETING


Crew SC last faced CF Montreal when it hosted the Canadian side at Historic Crew Stadium on October 7, 2020. Montreal took the lead in the 24th minute through midfielder Lassi Lappalainen. The Crew was able to tie the match in the 44th minute with a goal from forward Gyasi Zardes. In the 74th minute, Montreal took back the lead with a goal scored by midfielder Bojan Krkic via a penalty kick. CF Montreal won the match 2-1, handing the Black & Gold their lone loss at home in 2021.

The Black & Gold are undefeated in their last nine matches across all competitions dating back to November 8 of last year. Over that span, Crew SC has compiled a record of 7-0-2.


PARENTE MAKES HIS MLS REGULAR-SEASON STARTER DEBUT


Isaiah Parente is making his MLS regular-season debut as a starter in today’s match. This year, he has made two appearances (one start) in Concacaf Champions League action.


VITO WORMGOOR IS BACK


Vito Wormgoor will be making his first appearance for the Club since suffering an injury in a regular-season contest against FC Cincinnati last year (July 11) which caused him to miss the remainder of the 2020 MLS season.


ZELARAYAN SCORES, PROVIDES ASSIST AGAINST CF MONTERREY


Midfielder Lucas Zelarayan scored a goal and provided an assist in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against CF Monterrey. The midfielder set up defender Milton Valenzuela's 65th-minute equalizer following a mazy run inside the box. In the 87th minute, Zelarayan finished off a cross from defender Harrison Afful. The goal was Zelarayan's second tally in Concacaf Champions League action and the first since scoring in Tigres UANL's 2-2 draw on the road against Costa Rican side Herediano (Feb 20, 2018). Notably, the midfielder has provided an assist in each of his three Concacaf Champions League appearances with Crew SC this year.


VALENZUELA SCORES FIRST CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GOAL


Defender Milton Valenzuela scored his first Concacaf Champions League goal in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against CF Monterrey. Valenzuela's goal came in the 65th minute, when he finished off a pass from Lucas Zelarayan. In addition to this being his first goal of 2021, this was also the defender's second goal since signing with the Club in 2018. To date, Valenzuela has made 59 appearances (56 starts) across all competitions for the Crew while registering two goals and 10 assists.
