Director of Team Operations: Zach Crusse
Zach Crusse is in his fourth season as the Director of Team Operations for Columbus Crew SC in 2019 after joining the club in January of 2016. During his first year in MLS in 2016, he was honored with the MLS Team Administrator of the Year Award presented by Sportscorp Travel.
He came to the Black & Gold after working for U.S. Soccer as its National Team Coordinator for six years. In his current role, he oversees First Team and Academy operations and budgets, First Team preseason training camps and regular season team scheduling. He also works closely with the technical staff during the player acquisition process as well the day-to-day management of the club’s roster.
With U.S. Soccer, he worked across all levels of the Federations National Team system including numerous World Cups, specifically the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey and the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand. He also worked closely with the U.S. Soccer Olympic Team during their quest to qualify for the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
Born and raised in Worthington, Ohio, Crusse graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Sports Management. Following graduation, he worked as an Assistant Director of Marketing in the Bobcats’ athletic department.
Crusse lives in Italian Village with his wife, Kara. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, as he has been to over 50 countries and lists Dubai as his favorite destination.
