Crew makes roster moves ahead of Disney Pro Soccer Classic in Orlando

Ahead of the Crew's trip to Orlando for the Disney Pro Soccer Classic, Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter announced that the club is not bringing second-year midfielder Shawn Sloan and trialist Konrad Warzycha to Florida.

“We want to thank Shawn and Konrad for their time and efforts with the team,” said Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter. “Ultimately, we decided to make this decision now to allow them enough time to try to catch-on with another team this preseason.”

Sloan was selected in the Fourth Round of the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft from High Point University. He made his professional debut in the Crew's international friendly against Wigan Athletic last season, but did not see any MLS action.

Warzycha joined the Crew in February 2013 after two seasons with Sporting Kansas City. The Ohio State University product made 13 appearances with the Black & Gold last season, including his first MLS start against the Portland Timbers on July 7. He was invited to preseason camp as a trialist after his option was declined in November.

The Crew's preseason roster now stands at 32 with 30 players under contract after the club agreed to terms with 2014 MLS SuperDraft picks Ben Sweat and Kingsley "Fifi" Baiden on Friday. Unsigned draft pick Adam Bedell and trialist Patrick Slogic will travel with the Black & Gold to Orlando.
