COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew is set to travel to the Windy City for a Fifth Round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park on Wednesday, June 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Crew fans interested in attending the match can secure single-game tickets – currently on-sale – via Ticketmaster, www.Chicago-Fire.com, at the Toyota Park Box Office and by calling 888-MLS-FIRE.

The Crew advanced in the tournament with a 2-1 victory over North American Soccer League side Indy Eleven on Tuesday night, while Chicago downed USL-PRO’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-1 on Wednesday evening as the match was officially called in the 49th minute due to inclement weather in the Chicagoland area.

Last season, Chicago knocked the Crew out of the Fourth Round of the tournament with a 2-1 win on Wednesday, June 13, 2013 at Toyota Park. Overall, the Crew is 21-13-2 in 36 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup meetings dating back to 1998.

Now down to 16 clubs, the 101st edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup began with 80 teams – an increase from the 68 that competed last year, marking the largest field in the modern era (1995-present). The Crew was crowned 2002 U.S. Open Cup champion as the Black & Gold defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 1-0 to win the club’s first-ever tournament title in front of its home fans at Crew Stadium on October 24, 2002. The Black & Gold also reached the Open Cup Final in the club’s first appearance in the tournament in 1998 and most recently in 2010.
