The draw for the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 occurred today and the bracket is set. U.S. Soccer announced that Crew SC will face the Chicago Fire in Bridgeview, IL on June 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
This marks Columbus' fourth straight season advancing to the Round of 16, and its third time in those four years facing the Fire in the same round.
Should Crew SC beat Chicago, the Black & Gold would host the winner of Ft. Lauderdale Strikers at Orlando City SC for the quarterfinal. The contest between the two Central Region teams would take place at MAPFRE Stadium.
Ticket and broadcast information for that potential match will be announced at a later date.
