COLUMBUS – U.S Soccer announced today that the Columbus Crew and Lower.com Field will host the championship and third place matches for the ninth annual SheBelieves Cup on Tuesday, April 9. It marks the second time the USWNT will compete at Lower.com Field since its debut in July 2021 and the 12th time the side has played in Columbus since 1993, including nine appearances at Historic Crew Stadium.

Following the semifinals featuring the U.S. vs. Japan and Brazil vs. Canada in Atlanta on Saturday, April 6, the four squads will compete in the tournament’s final round in Columbus. The USWNT match against Brazil or Canada will kick off at 7 p.m. ET at the home of the Crew, the 2023 MLS Cup champions. Japan and the side not matching up against the USWNT will open the doubleheader at 4 p.m. ET, regardless of if it is the championship or third place match.

Crew Season Ticket and Black & Gold Next Members will have access to presale for the April 9 matches at Lower.com Field beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. ET. Season Ticket and Black & Gold Next members also have access to pre-sales for 2024 Crew single-match tickets and major events at Lower.com Field, Historic Crew Stadium and Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The public on-sale for the 2024 SheBelieves Cup matches in Columbus will begin on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. ET.

All four teams are ranked in the top 11 in the world and competed in last year’s tournament, where the U.S. took first, followed by Japan in second, Brazil in third and Canada in fourth place. In the semifinals on April 6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the USA (#2) will face Japan (#8) at 12:30 p.m. ET (TNT, Max, Universo & Peacock) and Canada (#10) will take on Brazil (#11) at 3:30 p.m. ET (Max, Universo & Peacock).

The four nations will then travel to Columbus, Ohio with Lower.com Stadium hosting the final two games of the tournament at 4 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. ET on April 9. The USA will play in the 7 p.m. ET slot (TBS, Max, Spanish Linnear TBC & Peacock) whether it is playing in Championship or Third-Place Match, and the other game will be at 4 p.m. ET (TBS, Max, Spanish Linnear TBC & Peacock).

The matches of the 2024 SheBelieves Cup will be the first of six domestic games the U.S. Women will play following the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup and leading into the 2024 Olympics in France.

“This is a tournament that features three teams already in the Olympics and Japan having a great chance to qualify, so coming off the Gold Cup, these are the exact kinds of games we need to evaluate players and continue to push our team as we prepare for France,” said U.S. interim head coach Twila Kilgore. “One great thing about the SheBelieves Cup is that it goes a long way in replicating the group stage at the Olympics, both in the short amount of rest you get between games while also facing teams with different styles of play during a group stage. The games will be great tests for all the teams and fun for the fans ahead of the Olympics.”

All three visiting teams feature multiple players who play in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Due to the change in FIFA competition windows and the staging of the Concacaf W Gold Cup in February and March, the format of the SheBelieves Cup will change this year. While there will still be four participants, there will be four matches instead of the usual six, and the teams will play semifinals (April 6), a Third-Place Match and the Championship (April 9). The format will return to three doubleheaders in 2025.

The SheBelieves Cup was first played in 2016. The USA won the inaugural edition and France took top honors in 2017. The USA won again in 2018 and England finished first in 2019, but the USA returned to the top of the podium in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
