COLUMBUS – The Crew Soccer Foundation announced today that it is hosting its third annual Golf Classic at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio on Tuesday, August 6. The event will be attended by the full Crew team and technical staff as well as LPGA Golf Pro Natalie Gulbis.
Those in attendance will have an opportunity to meet, get their picture taken and attend a short game clinic with Gulbis. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to meet and golf with Crew players and coaches during their outing.
“Having Natalie Gulbis attend the Crew Soccer Foundation’s Golf Classic is an exciting addition,” said Mark McCullers, President of Crew Soccer Foundation and General Manager of the Columbus Crew. “It will be a great day for golfing, spending time with the Crew team and raising funds for the Kirk Urso Memorial Fund.”
The cost for the event is $525 per individual, $2,000 per foursome or $2,400 for a deluxe foursome, which includes hole signage. The deadline to register for this event is July 26. Day-of-event registration begins at 10:00 a.m. with the shotgun start time scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
Gulbis officially joined the LPGA Tour in 2002 after a successful amateur career that saw her become the youngest amateur to qualify for an LPGA Tournament at the age of 14 in 1997. Her honors include winning the Evian Masters (2007), capturing three U.S. Sulheim Cups (2005, 2007, 2009) and securing the William and Mousie Powell Award in 2007. Off the course, Gulbis was featured on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice and starred in her own reality show on the Golf Channel.
All proceeds from this year’s golf outing will benefit the Crew Soccer Foundation’s Kirk Urso Memorial Fund which supports youth heart health research and programing.
