Columbus Crew SC to open 2015 home schedule on March 14 versus Toronto FC

Major League Soccer announced today that Columbus Crew SC will host Toronto FC in the club’s 2015 home Opening Match on Saturday, March 14, 2015 as the doors of Crew Stadium – the country’s first soccer-specific stadium – open to welcome supporters for its 17th season. Prior to the commencement of the home schedule, Major League Soccer’s first club begins its 20th season in the League with a road test at the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, March 7. A complete 2015 MLS schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

The start time for the March 14 Opening Match against Toronto FC is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET. The start time for the March 7 match in Houston is still to be determined. A complete 2015 Crew SC broadcast schedule is set to be announced at a later date.


This year's Crew SC Holiday Pack includes two tickets to the March 14 Opening Match at Crew Stadium and a $25 Crew SC Shop gift card, all starting at $49. 10-Match Plans include the Opening Match and nine additional matches of choice. Full Season Ticket Memberships, with a limited time discounted pricing window and exclusive membership gift, include all 2015 home regular-season MLS matches and exclusive membership benefits.

Crew SC is unbeaten (5-0-5) in Opening Matches at Crew Stadium over the last decade, dating back to 2005.

In 2014, Crew SC set a new single-season, club sellout record with five and also secured the largest single-season total attendance in Crew Stadium history, eclipsing the record set in the inaugural season in 1999. The Black & Gold also closed the 2014 regular season on a 6-0-0 tear at home, outscoring opponents by a 15-2 margin over the span. The club then clinched its first postseason berth since 2011 after finishing third in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference in Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter’s first season at the helm.
