Crew SC trio reflects on U.S. Men's National Team call-ups

Three Columbus Crew SC midfielders are headed to Carson, California this weekend for the U.S. Men’s National Team’s annual January camp. Ethan Finlay, Tony Tchani and Wil Trapp have been called-up to the senior team by Head Coach Jürgen Klinsmann.

Crew SC is the only MLS club to have three representatives on the camp roster. While Trapp prepares for his second consecutive camp, Finlay and Tchani are connecting with the Stars and Stripes for the first time. The guys are proud to represent the Black & Gold, while showcasing their abilities on an individual level.

“What a great opportunity for me and obviously, the other two guys, Tony and Wil, to be able to go and represent Columbus Crew SC,” Finlay says. “It’s just a product of what our team was able to do over the last year, so to be able to reap those rewards on an individual level is really exciting.”

Trapp says he and his teammates are being rewarded for Crew SC’s successful 2015 campaign.

“I think any time a team does well throughout the season, they get recognized for it and we’re fortunate enough to play a great style that’s attractive and wins a lot of games,” he says.

Their attractive style of soccer and consistent dedicated work ethic has netted the Crew SC trio the opportunity to achieve a dream every that every kid in soccer shares.

“It’s something that we all dream of because that’s something you’ll be able to tell your kids, your family—that once I was a member of the national team or I had a look at the national team,” Tchani says.
