The Black & Gold host Sporting Kansas City for the only meeting of the 2017 Major League Soccer regular-season and their 54th meeting all time on Sunday with a special 1 p.m. ET at MAPFRE Stadium.

Before Wednesday's 1-0 loss to New York City FC, Sporting Kansas City hadn’t played a MLS regular-season match since August 19. The Black & Gold will also be coming into Sunday’s match well-rested thanks to last week's bye week during FIFA's international break.
The Cross-Conference foes met once last season, a 3-2 loss for the Black & Gold. Crew SC lit the board first thanks to 22nd minute Ola Kamara goal, but SKC answered with two of their own in the 49th and 56th minutes. Kamara finished his brace to keep the Black & Gold afloat in the 75th minute, but it wasn’t enough when Matt Besler’s header won the match for Kansas City in stoppage time.
Sunday’s match will be one of three remaining home matches of the 2017 regular-season. The Black & Gold have notched 10 wins at home, the most since the 2012 season (11). They have also won the last four consecutive matches at MAPFRE Stadium, whereas SKC have only won one of their last 10 MLS regular-season home games.
