PREVIEW | Crew SC enters potential MLS Cup preview vs. Vancouver

Ola Kamara Federico Higuain celebration

The Black & Gold are undefeated in their last five regular-season matches, the longest streak of the 2017 Major League Soccer regular season. Crew SC looks to extend this streak in a potential 2017 MLS Cup matchup against the Western Conference-leading Vancouver Whitecaps FC at BC Place in Vancouver on Saturday for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff.

The Black & Gold have a 2-4-1 all-time record against the Caps. This will be their only meeting of the 2017 MLS regular-season. The last time the Cross-Conference foes met, Crew SC fell to Vancouver 3-1 at MAPFRE Stadium on September 10, 2016. Forward Ola Kamara put Crew SC on the board first with an 11th minute goal, but Vancouver equalized just two minutes later before adding an addition two to the back of the net thanks to Andrew Jacobson (74’) and Erik Hurtado (82’).

With Wednesday’s win against Minnesota, the Caps have bagged their first three-game winning streak in League play since May 2016 and have climbed their way to the top of the Western Conference table. Despite having not defeated Vancouver since the 2011 season, Crew SC has managed to snag a few points on two of their three trips to Vancouver, including the last time they visited in 2015 with a 2-2 draw.
