Columbus Crew loanee and current Birmingham Legion FC forward JJ Williamslifted the first-year USL Championship franchise to its first-ever playoff win with a 93rd-minute game-winner as part of the club's 3-2 win over North Carolina FC on Wednesday night at Cary, N.C.
The goal marked Williams' eighth of the season through 22 appearances, as the 21-year-old earned Man of the Match honors.
Now, Birmingham will travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 26 to take on top-seeded Riverhounds SC in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
