CREW SC TIED FOR FEWEST MLS REGULAR-SEASON LOSSES AT HOME SINCE JULY 20, 2019
Crew SC is currently one of only five teams* to have lost only one when playing at its home venue in regular-season action dating back to July 20, 2019. The Crew is currently tied with Chicago Fire FC, FC Dallas, Minnesota United FC and the Philadelphia Union for fewest losses over that span, with the Black & Gold compiling a regular-season record of 8-1-3. Additionally, Crew SC has scored in each of its nine last regular-season home matches, dating back to a 2-1 loss against Seattle Sounders FC last year (July 6).
SANTOS NETS FIFTH REGULAR-SEASON GOAL OF 2020
Midfielder Pedro Santos scored his fifth goal of the 2020 regular-season during Wednesday night's match on the road against FC Cincinnati. The Portuguese midfielder successfully converted a penalty kick attempt in the 45th minute of the match, bringing the score level at 1-1 before half time. With the goal in Wednesday’s match, Santos has tallied three goals in five regular-season appearances (all starts) against in-state rival FC Cincinnati dating back to last year. Additionally, Santos is second in Crew SC's regular-season goal-scoring leader board against FCC, behind only forward Gyasi Zardes (seven goals).
AFFUL AMONG MLS LEADERS IN INTERCEPTIONS
Through 16 regular-season appearances in the 2020 MLS season, defender Harrison Afful has made 48 interceptions. Afful is second among all MLS players in interceptions, behind only Chicago Fire FC defender Francisco Calvo (51 interceptions). Additionally, since making his MLS regular-season debut for Crew SC on August 1, 2018, Afful has made 296 interceptions in regular-season action, the fourth-most out of any MLS player during that span, behind only FC Dallas' Matt Hedges (377), Chicago Fire FC's Johan Kappelhof (326) and the Montreal Impact's Victor Cabrera (302).
