Columbus Crew SC defender Connor Maloney was voted by his teammates as the recipient of the Kirk Urso Heart Award as the player that best exemplified the qualities in a teammate and became “the heart” in the Black & Gold’s locker room.
The 23-year-old completed his second season with Crew SC after being selected in the Third Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. In 2018, Maloney made one regular-season appearance and provided one assist as a 62nd-minute substitution against the Portland Timbers.
Maloney participated in multiple Give Forward events hosted by the Crew SC Foundation and even provided play-by-play commentary for the Crew SC eMLS Gamer Playoff at Easton.
